HIGHLIGHTS: This project presented numerous challenges that became opportunities to think creatively and push the boundaries of traditional construction. The dynamic changes led to a stunning, ready-to-build space, perfect for a bustling grocery store and a state-of-the-art gym.


This project involved the transformation of a large, former K-Mart space into two distinct areas, while retaining a preexisting smaller space. We demolished the existing air cooling and circulation rooms, including all equipment, to create space for the back-of-house operations for Space "A" (gym side). During this process, we also updated the seismic requirements for a new portion of the roof. The entire façade received a modern overhaul, and the roof was resurfaced. The parking lot was refinished, restriped, and prepared for future EV charging stations, ensuring full ADA compliance. Additionally, we upgraded the electrical switchgear to handle the increased load requirements and facilitated Edison's replacement of the transformer.
